The war tour offers a great insight into the turbulent history of Split and its surroundings. Many wars have been fought here ever since the Greeks first colonized these shores in 6ͭʰ c. BC and got involved with the local Illyrian tribes, to the most recent war which ended in 1995. Two main stories of the tour are covering the two most recent wars: The Croatian War of Independence and World War II. The tour visits a museum, two forts, bunkers from WWII, a bulletproof war-train, and some actual battle sites.
